All of these custom fit earplugs require a set of impressions of your ears. I make them at rallies, you can get them from a local audiologist or hearing aid center or you can make your own with an impression kit. The impression kit comes with detailed instructions, material for three impressions (enough to get it right) and is $12.00 plus $4.00 S&H. If you do visit an audiologist, be sure to request a full helix deep mold, past the second bend of the ear canal. Ask them to show you how to insert your earmolds. Basically ask them to show you the orientation when the mold is in your ear. Looking at it you will see that it twists and turns, somewhat like an irregular screw. The idea is to follow that path to reinsert it.                                                              

Generally you will hold it in it's final (inserted) orientation and roll the top forward about 120 degrees. This will align the tip with the entry angle of the ear canal. As you insert it you roll the top back and allow it to "screw" into your ear. This sounds a lot more complicated than it is. A bit of lubrication makes it a lot smoother (drop of baby oil or a touch of your own personal "sanitary" saliva works wonders). Removal is the reverse, grab the top of the earplug and roll it forward to "unscrew" it from your ear. DO NOT use the wire on the Challenger sets to pull the earplug out of your ear.
